Excuses

I assume people take the link from Youtube over to this blog. I know I said I'd post more stuff by the end of the year but I got a monster flu and xmas and exams hit me like a ton of bricks. I know, I'm pathetic. I should live for music but it doesn't pay my way. I have to work, study, stare at my half finished paintings, etc. I'm also addicted to cycling. I spend about an hour and a half a day on wheels. If I didn't battle the traffic I would have no valid reason to cuss people out. I love screaming at cars.

But anyways....I have good news. I'm playing a gig soon with my friend Emily. Because of this external pressure I'm making practicing a priority. I probably have more fun preparing for gigs more than playing them. I have quite a strange mix of songs together. I've resolved never to play my guitar again because first off, I suck, secondly, my wrist is gimped for life, thirdly, I'm waaaaaaaay better at playing the piano now. I never would've learned if I hadn't developed the wrist condition. Silver lining folks, the glass is half full.

Hmmmm...so what else? I have to make an experimental film by April. Last semester I had a prof who didn't believe that I wrote and recorded the music on a video I handed in. He thought I stole it. I had to write him a page long explanation on the process before he believed me. I went into to express detail about the music theory employed, my software and my lyrical choices. He gave me a decent grade in the end but I was pissed. I'm so tired of douche bag profs.

Who cares about education. Honestly, my greatest accomplishment happened today when the person who gifted the world with "Super Broker Shuffle" subscribed to my videos. Behold the magic:

This is hard to believe that this is for real. So many bland colours and persons who look like they have had the life sucked out of them working their mindless sales droning jobs under the flickering florescent lights. It seems to me that the last thing they need is to win the super broker shuffle and figure out how to get the juice of life flowing. There are many things that indicate that it was not made recently. It is neither too good or too bad, or too bad to be good, it's got a couple good parts, mostly bad parts. Generally a producer will make something more consistent. I am impressed by the lyrics, as well as one of the brokers who can actually rhyme. it is catchy and...I have a slight ache to find out who actually won the "super broker shuffle".
