I'm working on a song that I am super excited about. I started a demo for it about a month ago and yesterday I finally got the lyrics and form in a shape that satisfied me. I've since put about 25 hours into the thing. Writing and recording and mixing for your one man band is not an easy task but it's the only way to learn. On Monday a few special peeps are coming over to shoot a video for it. Since visual ideas tend to morph considerably when put into practice I won't say more.
I am pleased to be developing a better grasp on arranging and recording. I used to slap a drum loop down and play my piano (or back in the day guitar) along without realizing how detrimental this can be to the dynamics (although it depends on the style).
