Rheostatics, the best band Canada ever had, broke up in 2007. Albums included songs by three strong songwriters: Dave Bidini, Martin Tielli, and Tim Vesely. I'm partial to Tielli songs such as this one and I confess to making myself Tielli mixes. The whole albums are very good though, wackily conceptual and thoroughly enjoyable. I'm ashamed that here in the west, few people know this band. They were too cool for Cancon, too weird (awesome) for the CBC.
