I thought I hated folk music. My parents were folkies turned yuppies and I never found Bob Dylan to be political enough to warrant the credit he gets for inspiring a movement. And I can't stand videos where pretty young women sit fawning around some man in a turtleneck....but Phil Ochs is amazing...amazing as in his music shakes you up and grabs you by the heart. Idealism like his is absolutely needed. It is frightening how relevant his songs are today...and very depressing.
